HUSH X SUMMER
Production
The Hush Summer Campaign Film captures a journey shaped by travel, freedom, and shared experience. Shot in South Africa, the film follows a road trip that unfolds across open landscapes, coastline, and moments of pause. The Hush Summer Campaign Film introduces a world defined by movement, sunlight, and a sense of exploration.
Travelling in a VW van, the characters move between locations with a natural rhythm. The road becomes a continuous thread, connecting each moment. Stops along the way introduce shifts in pace—camping, resting, and spending time by the beach. These transitions create a flow that feels both spontaneous and intentional.
Starring Schirin Frosch and Danika Pienaar, the film is driven by presence and connection. Their interaction feels effortless and unforced. Movement is guided by instinct, allowing each moment to unfold naturally. Gestures, glances, and shared experiences create a sense of continuity throughout the journey.
Shot across both digital and analog Super 8 formats, the film blends clarity with texture. Clean digital imagery captures the openness of the landscape, while Super 8 introduces grain and softness. This contrast adds depth to the visual language, reinforcing the feeling of memory and immediacy.
The environment plays a central role. Coastal light, open roads, and natural textures define the tone. The beach becomes a place of release, while the van acts as a moving space of connection. Each setting contributes to the overall sense of freedom.
Rather than following a traditional campaign structure, the Hush Summer Campaign Film focuses on mood and experience. It captures fragments of a journey that feel both personal and universal. The result is a cinematic piece that blends travel, friendship, and landscape into a cohesive and expressive summer narrative.
