The Daks Trench Coat Film explores the relationship between design, craftsmanship, and form through a narrative that moves between studio and factory. Focused on the making of the trench coat, the film presents a study of process, precision, and material. The Daks Trench Coat Film introduces a visual language built on contrast, control, and detail.
Set across two distinct environments, the film alternates between controlled studio imagery and the functional space of the factory. In the studio, the trench coat is presented through clean compositions and minimal gestures. Form, silhouette, and movement are emphasised, allowing the garment to define each frame.
Within the factory, attention shifts toward the act of making. The process is observed step by step, from button application to the construction of pockets, sleeves, and belt. Hands, tools, and materials come into focus. Each stage reveals the precision behind the garment. Texture and construction become central to the narrative, grounding the film in a strong sense of authenticity.
Starring Callum Simpson, the performance remains restrained and deliberate. His presence within the studio is composed and minimal, allowing the coat to take focus. Movement is subtle, reinforcing the structure and precision of the piece. The contrast between stillness and process creates a balanced rhythm.
Visually, the film is defined by clarity and intention. Light is controlled, highlighting surfaces and materials without distraction. Composition remains structured, echoing the craftsmanship behind the trench coat. The transition between environments creates a dialogue between design and production.
Rather than following a traditional campaign structure, the Daks Trench Coat Film focuses on detail and process. It reflects a garment shaped by both concept and construction. The result is a cinematic piece that connects studio, factory, and craftsmanship into a cohesive and refined narrative.
